So, it’s a little late tonight. That’s is a good thing.  I stayed up late to make some revisions to our church’s logo video.  We wanted to add our mantra into the mix, I just wasn’t sure how I wanted to accomplish it- hence, why I am still up.  Well, it is done now and I think it turned out pretty decent.

Today was pretty good. I got to sleep in until 11:30 and then lounge around for a few hours after that. Alisha and I ran some errands and then hung out with Jeremiah and Steph for a while.  We went to the St. Louis landmark, Ted Drewe’s Frozen Custard. Frozen custard is a big deal in STL, almost as big of a deal as it is in Wisconsin.  At this point, I don’t think I am capable of living further than 7 minutes away from a custard stand… it is too much of what I am.

Speaking of Wisconsin… tonight was my high school reunion, which I didn’t attend.  I actually regretted this decision a little.  I am not really sure why, but after I RSVP’ed that I wouldn’t be attending, I began to reconsider.  But it just wasn’t going to work out.  Maybe next time.

I am really tired again, but I am going to try to get all the way through the blog without falling asleep or writing about my friend Bfan.

The week finally ended! It was a long one, but it is now over… which is a little unexpected, because I was going to work tomorrow, but my employee is going to work instead.  I am very thankful, because I obviously need the sleep.

After work tonight Alisha and I went over to my friend, Mark’s, new house that he just bought.  It is a nicely remodeled house that is less than 9 minutes away from my home.  I really like it that my friends are moving in closer to the city, it is such a good thing!  Jeremiah is planning on moving down here in the next few weeks. All of this has me feeling like I am the epicenter of awesomeness, and other people just want to be as close as possible.

Note From Alisha: Jim was not drinking while typing this…just very sleepy!  This is why tired people should not drive a car!  I wish this was a joke…but this is what he actually wrote…he kept falling asleep as he added more content.  Wow!!!!

So, I had this all day manager meeting for work today. After the meeting they took us out to Dave & Buster’s as a thank you. It was fun, although I didn’t have my best pop-a-shot day.
I left about 15-30 minutes earlier than I do on a typical day. Of course that is the day that a major accident completely shuts down the interstate. It took me over an hour and a half to get home. While crawling along I noticed that there was a van in the next lane over that has it’s blinkers on and isn’t moving leaving a big gap in front of it. No one is paying any attention to this other than frustration about their lack of movement. I finally pulled up even with her, and unrolled my window to ask if she needed to be pushed off to the shoulder. She seemed kinda freaked out, and said that she would appreciate the help. So I threw the car in park and pushed the van while directing traffic to make room for her to move over a few lanes to the shoulder. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to move the stalled van, I guess it was the adrenaline, good thing cause no one seemed interested in helping.
Anyways, it was nice to help someone out. I wish I could have just fixed it for her there… It was going to take a very long time to get roadside assistance to her considering the conjestion. Hopefully she made it home safe.

Turkey meatloaf.  What a good idea.

I know that I have mentioned it before… but Alisha has been on an unbelievable streak of making crazy good meals recently.  They are all delicious and nutritious. For someone that really struggles to digest food, she has an amazing ability to make food.  You should probably invite yourself over for dinner sometime.  You won’t regret it.

Tonight on TBS they showed the best episode(s) of the Office… it was the one where Holly moves to Scranton and takes over HR for Toby as he moves to Costa Rica.  The best part of the show was that Holly thinks Kevin is mentally challenged.

Holly: Cool! You drive your own car?
Kevin: Yup. This is my car. Do you drive your own car?
Holly: Yep. Just like you.
Kevin: Okay, bye.
Holly: Bye. Kevin, I’m really proud of you.

It’s probably funnier when you watch it on tv, but I love it.

I am so glad that today is over. I got home about 20 minutes ago.  Work was amazingly busy, I only sat down for about 15 minutes.  I did really enjoy that half, half hour down time that I got, it was nice.

One of my employees had knee surgery today, so we were short handed.  We got through it though.  After I finally got done with work at 7:30, I went to go visit her at the St. Louis Surgical Center (not the hospital).  This place was nice, but nicer than the hospital… large flat screen tv’s, hardwood floors, and themed rooms.  Her room was the classic diner room.  It had these really cool photos of Fast Eddie’s, Eat Rite, and Del Taco (Del Taco is not a diner, but the one pictured by SLU is really neat and photo-worthy).

I’m thinking that Alisha needs to have more surgeries here.  Well, scratch that… no more surgeries, that would be better than anything.

I have been laying here looking at the blank computer screen for almost 20 minutes now.  I’ve got blogger’s block.  Today was a good day, but I don’t really have anything to say about it.

All I really care about is the Packers/Vikings game tomorrow.  Everyone I hear talking about the game wonders if the Packers fans are going to boo Brett Favre.  Some people say “how could you not?”.  Others say, “the Green Bay fans are too classy for that”.

For the record, I am not too classy for that.  I attempted to find tickets to the game, but really couldn’t justify the premium cost.

I will be watching the game from home (with a Vikes fan) booing my heart out, hoping that Lambeau will be joining me.  This game means way too much to me… I will just be devastated if the Pack loses tomorrow.  Cheer for them, people… the quality of the Sunday night movie depends on it!

Today was halloween dress-up day at work.  My team chose to dress like doctors for the simple reason of comfort. Today is the only day that we are permitted to wear something other than shirts/ties/suits during the year.  So the idea of wearing scrubs seemed like a smart way to go.  We all bought scrubs at Garden Ridge (not really sure why they sell them, but they do) at the bargain basement price of $11.98 for the complete set.

One guy asked me today if I was a doctor, and I convinced him that I was and just didn’t have enough time to change between my 2 shifts. I finally let him off the hook and told him that it was halloween.  He felt real smart.

Not to rehash yesterday’s blog, but… I looked around this morning for medical items to take to work as props.  I found latex gloves and the potty chair.  Also, ironically, we have a miniature toilet trophy at our branch… how could I resist??

Tonight we went to a Janelle’s place for a halloween party.  It was a load of fun, only made better by Alisha’s costume. Any guesses on who she is??

Tonight’s blog is a long distance dedication to Kristi McGill (thanks for teaching me everything I know).

Today at work I found biodegradable bags made for collecting your dogs poo in a more earth friendly manner.  That seems like a smart product that saves the environmental impact of bagging poo and also saves me from potentially stepping in it.  I decided that it would be a smart idea to try the bags out.

So this is what it looked like, both in open air and in the bag where I placed it on Rachel’s desk.

Before you throw your computer across the room out of disgust for me, know that this is one of those things that Kristi taught me… smashed up Oatmeal Creme Pies from Little Debbie look a lot like poo.

Rachel was not happy about me leaving this gift on her desk, but she was even more unhappy about me opening it and eating it.  She didn’t really get grossed out or anything, she just thought it was weird.

Then I went over to Joe and Kelli’s house and I made a “gift” for Elle.  I showed it to her and she quickly identified it as poop- Rigby’s poop (the family dog).  So, I proceeded to take a bite of it and she made a funny face and put her hand up so that she couldn’t watch me anymore, but other than that she was fine… Until I offered her a bite.  She ran away screaming.  I don’t know that I have ever seen her that terrified before (How good of an uncle am I??).

Fortunately, I was able to settle her down and explain the situation and she laughed about it… and eventually tasted it, and liked it.

I’ve got some serious reading to do tomorrow to make up for my trickery today.
